Late Mr. Tenzing Norgye Sherpa
Tenzing Sherpa was born
in 1915 in Thame village, Solu-Khumbu, Nepal. He first began climbing
mountains in 1935. In 1953, he was the first person to step on the world's
Highest Peak, Chomo-Langma (Everest). This act not only drew world
fare to himself, but also to Nepalese, and especially Sherpa. Tenzing
received medals from countries all over the world, not to mention the
honor of "Nepal Tara". He passed away in 1986. To this day, Sherpa
still remain in the forefront of people climbing Mount Everest.

Late Babu Chiri Sherpa
( 1965-2001 )
Babu Chiri Sherpa was
born in 1965 in the remote village of Taksindhu in Solu Khumbu district
of Nepal. From the age of 13 he started his career as a climber. By
the time he was 36, he had submitted Everest 10 times, become the fastest
climber of the world's highest mountain and spent an unprecedented 21
hours on the summit, thus creating two unique world records on Everest.
Soon he became a shining star for more than 20 million Nepali people.
But on Sunday the 29th April 2001, his sad and sudden demise shocked
the whole world. He fell into a 200ft deep crevasse accidentally while
on his way to the summit and became dear to the gods of the mountains. |

Late Mrs. Pasang Lhamu
Sherpa
Pasang was born in 1958
in Buwa (Surkey) Solu-Khumbu Nepal. She was the first Nepali woman to
successfully summit Mt. Everest in 1993. She passed away during her
expedition in the same year. This feat brought world-wide attention
not only to herd self, but also to Nepali, and especially Sherpa women..
Nepali government honoured her with the "Nepal Tara" Medal, and issued
a stamp of her picture in 1994. |

Mr. Kaji Sherpa:-
Kaji was born in Le-Dingma
Village, Solu-Khumbu, Nepal in 1964. He Climbed Everest in 20 hours
and 24 minutes setting a new world record in 1998. His intention was
to climb Everest in 18 hours. The expedition was organized by May
29 Memorial Trust. Kaji had already climbed Everest four times. |

Mr. Ang Rita Sherpa :-
(HERO OF THE HIMALAYAS)
Ang Rita was born in 1949 in Thame Solu-Khumbu Nepal. He is known as
being the only person to top Mt. Everest 10 times from 1990 till 1998
without oxygen. Because of his feats Nepal has awarded him the honours
of Gorkha Dakshin Babu First and Trishakti Patta First. |

Late Mr. Sungdare
Sherpa :-
Sungdare was born in
1956 in Thame village, Solu-Khumbu, Nepal. He is known for reaching
the top of Everest in 1976. From then until 1988 he submitted Everest
five times. Nepal awarded him the honours of Gorkha Dakshinbabu First
and Trishakti Patta First. He Passed away in 1989. |

Mr. Apa Sherpa :-
Apa was born in Thame
village, Solu-Khumbu, Nepal in 1962. From 1990 till 1998 he climbed
Mt. Everest 9 time and is the second person to do this consecutively. |
